Advanced techniques using state of the art dental equipment
to enhance, change or improve a patient’s smile is what cosmetic dentistry is about. Dr. Sebastian and her team stay up-to-date in the rapidly changing fields of dentistry. Together they deliver state of the art general and cosmetic procedures including whitening, porcelain veneers, composite veneers, implants, crowns, and Invisalign, the newest nearly invisible method of straightening teeth. Today’s dentistry allows reshaping or realigning of teeth for improved aesthetics in just a few visits. Large gaps or overcrowded teeth may be corrected with porcelain veneers. Discolored or dark/gray or yellow teeth can be whitened in one hour. Large amalgam (silver) fillings can be replaced with porcelain that matches the tooth, even the patient is unable to tell a restoration exists. All of this and more are possible and our patients love to show off their new smiles the moment they leave the office.

These are thin shells of porcelain that are individually sculpted to the perfect smile by the best laboratory technicians. These are bonded to the tooth structure with a strong resin and polished to a smooth finish.

When patients have large restorations or decay, porcelain inlays or onlays may be the right choice for restoring the tooth back to health. Porcelain is the material of choice due to its strength and color which can match the natural color of tooth structure and can increase the strength of a weakened or fractured tooth. This procedure allows the dentist to remove only the decayed tooth structure, preserve all the remaining healthy tooth structure and return the tooth to its natural healthy state.

When enough healthy tooth structure exists, composite resins (white fillings) are recommended. These resins can be used to reshape teeth, fill in large gaps or replace missing tooth structure from previous restorations or decay. This procedure allows the teeth to be returned to its natural healthy state.

Previous crowns made with metal and porcelain often had unsightly dark shadows at the gumline and certain lighting conditions caused these crowns to glow and look unnatural. Crowns (caps) and bridges can now be made metal free, thanks to new materials and techniques that are rapidly emerging. These restorations eliminate the unnatural look of any visible metal and can imitate the natural properties of tooth structure enabling the restrations to blend more naturally with adjancent teeth. These new materials allow very beautiful smiles to emerge.

Some people have allergic reactions to base metals which can be caused by porcelain metal crowns. These can now be avoided with metal free crowns and bridges.
